Types of Warships

Aircraft Carrier USS George Washington

Air Craft Carrier

Air Craft Carrier USS George Washington length is 1,092 feet (332.8 m). Its speed is 30+ knots (56+ km/h; 35+ mph). Using 2 × Westinghouse A4W nuclear reactors and 4 × steam turbines has range Unlimited distance for 20-25 years without refueling. It could carry  90 fixed wing and helicopters and 6102 crews.

Russia has only one Aircraft Carrier, namely Admiral Kuznetsov that could carry around 40 aircrafts. Russia build another one in Uni Soviet era, but later sold to China. China completed them as the first Aircraft Carrier, Liaoning. Its length is only 305 meter.  It does not use nuclear power, so the range is limited to 8,500 miles (13,700 km).

Destroyer Warships

A destroyer warship is a fast and maneuverable yet long-endurance warship to guard larger vessels in a fleet. A destroyer is loaded with missiles, torpedoes, and guns to destroy the enemy.

The modern Udaloy-class destroyer of the Russian Navy can travel at 35 knots (65 km/h), and have a maximum range of 19,450 km. One of the Russian Destroyer has eight SS-N-22 Sunburn anti-ship missiles, launchers for SA-N-7 Gadfly anti-air missiles and two AK-130 twin-barreled 130 mm automatic naval guns which can fire laser-guided shells. While they also carry 533 mm torpedo tubes and RBU-6000 rocket launchers for use against submarines, their primary mission is to attack surface ships. Their anti-aircraft missiles have a surface attack mode, and both the 130 mm guns and the torpedoes are useful against ships at close range.

Beside destroyer there is also terminology such as Corvette and Frigate. The definition is quite blurry. Corvette is smaller than Frigate (more than 2000 tones) and bigger than Fast attack craft. Corvette length around 180–330 feet (55–100 m). The term is from smallest to the biggest: Fast Attack Craft, Corvette, Destroyer, Frigate, Cruiser, and Battleship. But once again the difference is quite blurry. A ship could be classified as cruiser or destroyer, but latter classified as frigate. It's like a rank in the military such as Captain and General.

Submarine

A submarine is a watercraft capable of independent operation underwater. A Russian Navy Typhoon could submerge for 6 months with maximum deep 400 meter.  Its speed is 22.22 knots (41.15 km/h; 25.57 mph) surfaced and 27 knots (50 km/h; 31 mph) submerged. It has length 175 m (574 ft 2 in) and Beam: 23 m (75 ft 6 in). It has 2 × OK-650 pressurized-water nuclear reactors, 190 MW (254,800 hp) each and 2 × VV-type steam turbines, 37 MW (49,600 hp) each.
Armament: 1 × 9K38 Igla SAM, 6 × 533 mm (21 in) torpedo tubes, RPK-2 Viyuga cruise missiles, Type 53 torpedoes. D-19 launch system 20 × RSM-52 SLBMs.
